Activities
Offsite Visits
Visits and adventurous activities are an essential part of a child’s development, helping them to learn about assessing and managing risk, and to gain skills in leadership and team working. They also build self-esteem and allow children to experience a range of normal social experiences.
At Francis Combe Academy we aim to create opportunities for our learners to take part in a wide range of offsite visits and residential experiences.
- All visits and residentials are assessed for risk by the trip leader in accordance with the offsite visits policy.
- Parents are required to complete an annual parental consent form, this allows their child to take part in Level 1 school visits throughout the year. Level 2 and 3 visits, including residential and overseas will need a one-off consent form specifically for the event.
- Any deposits and further payments made to the Academy are non-refundable if the trip goes ahead. If for any reason the trip cannot go ahead a full refund will be issued.
- The Academy has the right to withdraw a learner from an offsite visit or residential activity if their behaviour is unacceptable and it is felt the risk is too high for them to take part.
Residential activities could include:
- Sports tours
- Ski adventure holidays
- Camps to Edale, Phasels Wood
- Paris
